Is Beauty Skin Deep?

Here are some thoughts by Cristina V., Nadia’s daughter:

I believe that beauty should not be what’s on the outside but it is something that should be recognized on the inside. However, in the real world people are being judged and based on their looks, not for who they are on the inside. Every day I see people that have lots of courage built up inside to ask someone if they like them but they get rejected. Almost 5,000 of 10,000 people each day are turned down for either wearing glasses or having some sort of deformity of the face or body. It’s natural to have glasses on. More than half of the population has glasses because they have trouble seeing from a distance, or they’re near sighted…  if it keeps you from tumbling down everywhere then you should not be ashamed of seeing the world with just a little bit of help.

So look at yourself and be honest, have you ever not enjoyed someone’s company because they wear glasses or have been called nerds and if you hang out with them it will lower your popularity????? Just think about it, they already are suffering with seeing and exploring what you can see and explore so easily so why would you want to bring their courage and self-esteem down?

Something else you should know is that if you have a body or face deformity like myself then that just makes you more of a unique and original person just like everyone else in this world. If your uncomfortable with anything you were born with it’s okay to think about removing it but through all my experiences, I say that you should just embrace how handsome or beautiful you look with this deformity, because if you did not have what you have you would not be so unique. What I am trying to tell you is that no matter who you are or what you look like, you could be anything you want to be and you can do anything you want to do!
